Emergency SOS App: Free Download for Android
GoAlert is a travel safety and SOS app for Android by Kumawatpulse Technologies that shares live GPS alerts with chosen guardians. It costs nothing (0 INR), needs no account, and takes about five minutes to set up. This page covers what you get in the free download, how the emergency features work, and the honest technical limits — so you can decide if it fits your safety plan. GoAlert supplements, never replaces, official emergency services: Police 112, Medical 108, Women Helpline 1091 in India.
What the free download includes
Everything in GoAlert is free — there are no tiers, trials, or locked features. One download gives you the complete emergency toolkit: one-tap SOS with live GPS coordinates, the Shield travel monitor with a persistent on-screen indicator, the safety check-in timer, impact and crash detection with a 15-second cancel countdown, low-battery SOS at about 15%, Safe Zones for trusted places, Quiet Hours for the night, remote location requests via a shareable connection code, and a travel activity log. The interface is available in 22 languages, from English and Hindi to Tamil, Bengali, and Marathi.
There is also nothing to sign up for. GoAlert keeps your emergency contacts and settings on your own device — no usernames, no passwords, no profiles to manage. Someone setting up a phone for an elderly parent can finish the whole process in minutes, as explained on the How It Works page.

How the emergency features work
One-tap SOS. Trigger it manually and every chosen guardian receives your exact GPS coordinates plus a readable address as an Internet push notification.
Automatic SOS. Three triggers can fire without touching the button: a missed safety check-in, a detected high-G impact you don't cancel within 15 seconds, or battery falling to about 15%.
Guardian-initiated help. With Remote Request enabled, a guardian holding your connection code can pull your live location over the Internet — useful when you can't respond.
False-alarm control. Safe Zones and Quiet Hours suppress routine alerts at home, work, or overnight, so guardians learn that an alert means something real.
Free does not mean low-privacy
GoAlert has no ads, no analytics SDKs inside the app, and no data-selling business — there is nothing to sell because contacts and settings never leave your device except as alert payloads to your own guardians. SOS and location requests relay through Google Firebase push delivery, which is why both sides need an Internet connection. The full data story, including permissions and retention, is in the Privacy Policy, and the most common questions are answered on the FAQ page.
Honest limits before you download
Know the boundaries. Alerts dispatch only with Internet on both sides; GPS weakens indoors, in tunnels, and underground; a dead phone sends nothing; background monitoring can be paused by aggressive battery savers. GoAlert is GPS, network, and battery dependent and is a supplementary tool — in a real emergency call 112, 108, or 1091. The same limits apply across our designed-for scenarios like solo road trips and late-night commutes.
Common questions
How does the SOS button work?
When you trigger SOS, GoAlert sends your live GPS coordinates to your chosen guardians as an Internet push notification. Alerts need an active Internet connection to dispatch; GPS tracking itself runs on your device. GoAlert is a supplementary safety tool, not a replacement for calling 112, 108 or 1091 in India.
What permissions does GoAlert need and why?
GoAlert needs precise location for GPS alerts and tracking, background location only when you start a monitored trip, contacts access only to let you pick guardians from your phonebook, and notifications for the persistent tracking indicator and incoming alerts. Each permission can be revoked anytime in Android Settings; location features stop working if revoked. See the privacy page for full details.
What happens when my battery is low?
With Low Battery Alerts enabled, GoAlert automatically sends an SOS to your chosen guardians when your battery drops to about 15%, so they know your phone may go offline soon. Like all alerts, it needs Internet to dispatch, and GoAlert cannot function once the phone shuts down.
