Women Safety App for India: SOS Alerts With Live Location
GoAlert is a travel safety and SOS app for Android by Kumawatpulse Technologies that shares live GPS alerts with chosen guardians. It is free, needs no account, and is designed to support women's everyday safety across India — on late-night commutes, solo trips, campus walks, and new-city travel. This page explains what the app does, how to use it, and honestly where its limits lie. GoAlert is a supplementary tool: in any emergency, always call the Women Helpline 1091, Police 112, or Medical 108 first.
Why an SOS app belongs in a women's safety plan
A safety plan has layers: aware routes, charged phones, people who know where you are, and official helplines. GoAlert covers the "people who know where you are" layer. Before a risky journey — a late auto ride, an unfamiliar route, a night shift return — you activate the Shield, and if anything feels wrong, one trigger sends your exact GPS coordinates to the guardians you chose: family, friends, or colleagues. They receive it as an Internet push notification within seconds, with a readable address alongside the coordinates.
Because alerts go to people who know you, response is personal and fast: a parent can call back immediately, a friend can share the location with local police, a colleague can meet you at the next stop. The app also offers a safety check-in timer — set the expected journey time, and if you don't confirm you're safe, an automatic SOS goes out even if you can't reach your phone.
How to set it up in five minutes
- Download free from Google Play. GoAlert needs Android 8.0 or above and about 14 MB. Package
co.in.kumawat.goalert, version 1.2.3. No registration, no login, no fees. - Add guardians from your phonebook. Choose the 2–4 people you trust most. Only the contacts you pick are stored, locally on your phone.
- Activate the Shield before you travel. A persistent notification shows tracking is on, so you always know and can stop it with one tap.
- Send a test alert once. Verify your guardians actually receive alerts before you ever need a real one.

Safe Zones. Mark home, office, or campus to suppress routine alerts while keeping SOS ready.
22 languages. English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, and 11 more — the app works in the language the whole family understands. See the FAQ for the full list.
Private by design. Contacts and settings stay on the device; alerts relay via Firebase push. No ads, no analytics SDKs in the app. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Honest limits every user should know
GPS, network, and battery dependent. SOS needs Internet on both sides; signals weaken indoors, in metros, and underground; nothing can be sent once the phone dies. GoAlert never guarantees safety and never replaces official help — Women Helpline 1091, Police 112, Medical 108. Tied to the same honest limits on our Use Cases and teen commute pages.
Common questions
How does the SOS button work?
When you trigger SOS, GoAlert sends your live GPS coordinates to your chosen guardians as an Internet push notification. Alerts need an active Internet connection to dispatch; GPS tracking itself runs on your device. GoAlert is a supplementary safety tool, not a replacement for calling 112, 108 or 1091 in India.
Does GoAlert work without internet?
Partly. GPS tracking and the safety timer run on your device without Internet, but SOS alerts, remote location requests and accident-detection notifications are sent as Internet push notifications, so they dispatch only when connectivity is available. An active connection is required to reach guardians.
Which languages does GoAlert support?
GoAlert supports 22 languages: English, Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Portuguese, Russian, Indonesian, and Vietnamese.
